Employee Health
Employee health is the most valuable resource our company has. Healthcare management is regarded as one of the key tools HR teams use to help control company costs while also motivating and supporting staff, across both AUSMAH’s automotive and oil and gas divisions.
Experts have calculated that a sick employee ultimately costs far more than what a company might save by cutting corners on working conditions. A well-organized health management system allows AUSMAH to reduce workplace illness rates by 50%, improve the detection of chronic conditions by 15%, and, as a result, cut the average duration of temporary work incapacity by 30%.
At AUSMAH, healthcare management operates as its own dedicated department with a wide range of responsibilities. This goes well beyond daily health monitoring and routine prevention; it also includes risk assessment and long-term planning, particularly important given the physically demanding conditions found across the company’s oil and gas equipment operations. The department oversees supplemental health insurance, funding for psychological support and fitness consultations, fitness classes, stress management programs and much more.
AUSMAH also provides on-site emergency medical care, particularly in cases of workplace accidents or when action is needed to prevent an occupational illness from developing. To support this, the company has established a dedicated medical unit that works closely with the occupational safety team, especially when it comes to preventing workplace accidents, whether on a production floor or at an oil and gas facility.
For most other medical needs, employees receive care through specialized outside facilities, with all associated costs covered by the company. AUSMAH also covers the cost of private health insurance programs for its employees.
